Hi.. I have heard a few people mention not to use soy for some reason. I have a 13 month old who I tried to br___t feed but gave up at about 6 weeks old and had so many problems with reg. formula my doc. put him on soy formula which he has been on with no apparent problems since about 8 weeks old. Does anyone know of any long term affects of soy formula or am I worrying for nothing. Since his doctor prescribed it I just assumed it was the best for him. thanks... grace

I'm not sure about this, there was a discussion about this a month or two ago. The only thing I can remember is that some said they read that it can cause infertility in girls. You may want to look around the web about this, because I honestly do not remember. However, I really wouldn't, worry, I think the majority of the reason you don''t want to put a baby on soy is the high allergy incidence.

My son is on soy because he could not have milk-based formula's. It was the doctors idea and he is doing great. When I was a baby I could not have milk-based formula and now as an adult still cant drink milk my sons father is the same way and we both had soy and turned out fine. If your doctor prescribed it and your baby is doing fine dont worry.
