Rubbing Underneath Chin

My son drools a LOT! He's a faucet sometimes, and we have to change his bib 3-4 times a day. I just noticed what looks like diaper rash/chafing under his chin. I applied some Aquaphor (very lightly and gently), and put a clean bib on. Now he's asleep. Is there anything else I should do, and did this happen to anyone else's baby?

When my daughter was a baby i had the exact same problem. It looked very sore and weepy and even started to smell. I took her to the doctor and she told me to keep it dry and put nappy rash powder on it. I did that and it cleared up almost completely in about 3-4 days. I noticed the same starting on my son last night so i put nappy rash powder on it and its looking fine.

Kailey has the exact same thing happening to her. When my nephew had that when he was her age (he is a year now) my sister's pediatrician told her to put Eucerin's Aquaphor on it just as you did and it will help clear it up and keep it from coming back! :) Sounds like you did the right thing Mandi. I just did the exact same thing for Kailey today!

Sophia gets that...the doc told me to put diaper rash ointment on it, and if that didn't clear it up, to use an anti-fungal ointment (he suggested something like monistat) on it. I put diaper rash ointment on it when it's red, and lasinoh (lanolin nipple cream) on it the rest of the time. It doesn't happen as much as it used to, because she's growing a bit more neck now.
