Hello everyone. My son is a little over 7 months and although he is a great easy baby I am just curious of what other babies schedules are. Mason has always just gone to sleep on his own, but lately he is really crying a lot which is not like him. I am jwondering if I am missing his ques or something. Thanks for your input.

maybe he's teething.. i know isabelle is almost 2 teeth and her gums are bothering her a lot lately :-( i usually try to get her to take 3 naps during the day, and to go to bed for the night at around 9pm.

Shannon, thank you for your post, but what specifially is her schedule. Does she wake nap and eat at the same time everyday?

Shannon - May 23

mmmm.... she naps at about 9-10,1ish, and 4-5... it kinda varies. not much of a schedule, but i should get her on a more strict one soon. she eats solids at 12ish and 7ish and b___stfeeds whenever she wants, which is less and less lately. :-/

That sounds pretty much like Mason's schedule but I just don't get why is crying so much when going to sleep now. I used to put him down and he would just lay there, play and then go to sleep. He is teething, but I don't think that's it. He's not crying until I put him in his crib to sleep. He cries about 5 minutes and then falls alseep. Maybe it's the seperation anxiety thing. Thanks Shannon.

hi girls - my nolan will be 7 months this week and is GENERALLY a happy baby - that is if he sleeps and naps okay - if not, he's a total gremlin! he will generally wake at 6 am - sometimes 5 am which is a nightmare!!!! - then he naps about 2 hours after wake up, then he'll nap another two hours after he wakes from his nap... and if i'm lucky, he'll have a third nap later in the pm... i have been reading this baby sleep book which seems to have helped overall, but the only thing is the early wake-up time - any ideas? i've been putting him down earlier and earlier at night and he seems happier... his bedtime used to be 8:30 and now it's as early as 7:00 - and he doesn't cry!!! i thought going to bed so early would make him wake earlier, but he gets up at the same time regardless... so, basically, my question is any ideas on getting him to wake just a BIT later? (can you tell i was up at 5am this morning?) :)

Mason recently went through the same thing. He would wake at 5 for a bottle and then was bright eyed and bushy tailed. Of course he then would fall back asleep within 45 minutes or so for an hour or two so here's what we did. We would feed him his bottle and then make sure he was burped, changed etc. and then back to his crib he went. We put a few safe toys in there and he would usually play/talk until he went back to sleep. Sometimes he would cry, but not much. Now he doesn't wake then anymore and if he does he goes right back to sleep. Maybe this would work with your Nolan. How long does Nolan sleep for his three naps?

Jordan will be 7months in the next week. He usually wakes up around 8ish, has cereal / fruit and a bottle, plays for a little bit, then around 10ish goes down for a nap usually about 1.5 to 2 hrs, then he wakes up and plays for about a half hour then I give him lunch veggies then his bottle. After this he will play again for awhile then around 2ish will nap again for maybe an hour or so, then he plays and has a bottle around 4:30 and sometimes more fruit. Then he may cat nap here and there until his cereal which is at 8ish then his last bottle usually sleeping by 9ish. Bath is done in the morning before lunch after first nap usually. Hope this helps!

I'm so glad to hear my ds is not the only one taking three naps a day. My ds naps about 45minutes to an hour each nap. I keep reading about how he should be on a two nap schedule. He also rises early about 6 am if he wakes before then I let him cio and he will (usually) go back to sleep his bedtime keeps on getting earlier and earlier though I think hed go to bed at 5pm if I'd put him down.

hi sonyam, jai, lisa... thanks - that really helps sonyam - i might try it next time he decides that 5am is a good time to wake! god i wish he'd sleep till 7 or 8 - i'd pay good $ for that. as far as his naps go, they are usually 1.5 - 2 hours long except for that third one if he has it - it only lasts like 45 minutes or so... apparently he should be dropping that nap by 9 months or so... i wish i could keep him up till 8 or 9 but he would be so bent out of shape and grumpy! i also TRY to ignore him before 6am but the operative word is try... i just put him to bed a bit ago so we'll see what tonight holds...

Thank you all for your comments. That helps alot. RB, it sounds like Mason's schedule is just like Nolan's. He takes a nap around 9ish usually about 30 minutes to an hour. Then another about two to three hours later for about 2 hours and then another 45 minute nap around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. He usually goes to bed around 7:30-8:30 depending on our evening. So much of his schedule has been set my the demands of our almost four month old's schedule. He has preschool four days a week so we are back in forth in the car alot. Again, thanks for everyones comments.

hi sonyam - what time does mason usually wake up? this morning was 6am so i just let him stay up for the day instead of feeding then putting back to bed... i also got about 1/2 hour cuddling before we actually got up :)

SonyaM - May 24

Hi RB, today Mason woke up at 7:00. Sometimes it is 6:00 sometimes as late as 8:30 but usually it's at 7ish. He went down for his nap at 9:30 and is starting to stir now (10:20). He also went down really easily for his nap too so I think 1.5 hours is a good time for him to go down for his first nap. Thanks again for your input.

SonyaM - May 24

soirry, that should have been 2.5 hours until his first nap.

hi girls - just wondering what your babies are "doing" these days... are they sitting up on their own, standing etc.? i never know since i read so many different threads of kids older and younger so was just curious... also, are your babies getting jarred baby food or are you preparing it yourselves?

SonyaM - May 24

Hey RB, great idea. Mason is sitting up by himself and getting to a sitting position by himself. He also started crawling (the real deal) and is pulling up so he is on his knees and holding onto furniture but not all the way to standing yet. He is eating stage 2 jarred foods but does not like the "dinner" ones with chicken/broccoli, etc. I just bought some fresh chicken yesterday to make some babyfood but my grocery store was out of ice cube trays so I have to get some first. I am gonna make chicken and rice and puree it in the blender and see how he likes it. What is your little one doing and when is his birthday. Mason was born October 4 at 7:50a.m.-via c-section. He was 9 pounds 14 ounces and 21.5 inches long.
