Hello everybody! I was wondering if everyone would post the age of their baby and what their "typical" day is like. I'll go first...

kristine - November 1

My son is just turning 6 months old. Here's a typical day: 5:00am: Wake up to nurse and go back to sleep 7:30ish: Wake for the day 8:00ish: Go for a walk (weather permitting:) 8:30: eat-cereal and fruit 9:00: nap (averaging 1.5 hours lately) 10:30ish: eat (bf) and then play (jumper, floor, rolling, sitting, shaking things, laughing at mommy, outside with doggy) 12:30/1:00ish: nap (averaging 40 min...would love another 1.5 hours...haha) 1:30: eat (bf) and then more of the same type of play 3:00 daddy comes home and unfortunately for daddy, baby is starting to get tired again. They play for a while until baby starts getting fussy and then we try to get him to nap in the swing....he won't nap in his crib at this time for some reason. 4:30ish: eat (bf) and then usually sit in bouncy/vibrating chair while mommy makes dinner, or play and laugh with daddy. 5:30ish: eat-cereal and veggies 6:30: bath 7:00: nurse and go to sleep Sleep until 5:00am (usually) and start all over again!

DDT-Do you have one of those weather blocker things to put over the stroller for when it rains? Just curious because I was thinking of buying one but not sure if they are worth it.

DDT, our babies seem to have a similar "schedule". my dd is 7 1/2 months old and her day is "usually" like this: 6:30-7:00 wake up/6oz bottle, 8:00 breakfast (cereal and fruit), 9:00 morning nap (30min-2 hours), 11:00 6oz bottle, 12:00 lunch ( veggie/fruit), 1:00ish afternoon nap (again 30min-2 hours), 3:00 6oz bottle, 4:30 snack (sometimes), 5:30 walk or play outside, 6:00 dinner (veggie, and sometimes zwieback toast if I am trying to cook our dinner), 6:45 bath/book/bottle/bed between 7:30-8pm. There's lots of play time in between all of this, of course, and running errands, etc. but i try to do the errands in the late afternoon after her naps. otherwise, she will usually fall asleep in the car and wont nap once we get home! Now the days when she takes 30 min naps our day gets a littly wacky but i'm trying really hard to keep this routine, especially with the nap times. the afternoon nap is the hard one. i babysit in my home 2 afternoons a week and have to pick the child up at school, so i have to have my dd napping by 1pm, which some days is difficult.

My. 4.5-month-old eats around 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm. He naps at about 10am and 2pm. My biggest problem is getting him to lap longer than 30-45 minutes; I really think he should be napping at least an hour but he hasn't yet mastered that (sometimes he does). In between is play (exersaucer, playmat, Papasan, reading, etc). He goes to sleep in the 8:30-9pm range and wakes up at different times each morning. Again, the nighttime sleeping is not down to a science. We just started him on rice cereal yesterday, so this entire routine may change!

My dd is 5 months old. 6:30-7 wake- up,8:30-9 am nap (45 min-2.5 hours) 12:30-1:30 nap (2-3 hours) 6-6:30 bedtime. ( she will usually sleep till 6:30 am. (sometimes she wakes up around 3-4 (no nursing) or around 5 am (sneeks in an extra feeding) She eats (b___stmilk) pretty much every 1.5- 2 hours unless she is sleeping. In between all that sleeping is lots of playtime (floor, exersaucer, jumper, books) And usually a walk in the stroller or Baby bjorn. Sometimes we go to Target or go visit friends. Dh comes home for an hour at lunch so usually that is special playtime with daddy while I fix lunch. I used to bath her in the kitchen sink but I feel its to cold now for that so usually every other day She takes a shower with Dh in the am and we get the bathroom all warm and steamy. As far as the bedtime routine goes. Its pretty simple. Jammies, sleepsack ,and then I nurse her in her room all dark and quiet then she goes in her crib and goes to sleep. For naptimes she is still swaddled and takes a paci.

jerseygirl, my dd also used to only nap for 30 minutes! she did that for so many months. she will still take a 30 min nap about twice a week and it drives me nuts! lol- good luck! that part should get better once he gets older.

MADISON: I figured it was just a phase, but thanks for rea__suring me. I sure can't wait until he sleeps at least 10 hours straight. It worries me b/c I feel like he should be getting much more sleep for his development.

Yes, I have a weather guard that works SO great. I don't know if I would ever be without it. I live in a very rain-prone city (Vancouver, BC). I have the Graco-brand and it fits perfectly onto my stroller (also Graco) with the infant seat or without it.

Hi, my daughter is 6 months old. She has been waking up between 7:45 and 8:00 am. She drinks 6 oz formula for breakfast, plays in exersaucer or on floor. I read her a short book. She eats cereal with fruit at 8:45 then we go for a walk. She takes a short nap about 10:30-11. She plays some more and has 7 oz of formula and a veggie around 12. After that she plays some more. She just started using her walker this week, so that has been fun for her (she's attempting to chase the dog). She naps around 1:30-2:15. Then we usually go out again--either another walk or drive to stores. Another 6-8 oz at 4:00. More rolling on floor, playing /sitting/standing, exersaucer, etc. She eats another bowl of cereal with fruit at 5:30. Plays with daddy for a while. Naps from 6:30-7. Bath sometime btwn 7-7:15. Bottle, 6-8 oz at 7:30. We read another book and she's asleep around 8 - 8:30pm.
