My dd is almost 5 months and I file her nails every week if not more but she still manages to scratch her precious face, sometimes really bad. how do you deal with their super sharp nails? and do you use anything on the scratches to help them heal with out scaring?

King goes nuts on his face. I mean he goes to town. The only thing I can do is keep his hands in little socks (only at night b/c that's when he seems to do it the most). However do not put anything on her face to heal it b/c the baby's skin heals very quickly

Babies will rarely scar over such things. Their skin heals quickly...Tasia scratches her face too...It freaks me out when she goes for the eyes!! I'm scared she's gonna blind herself.

My son was really doing it - so much so I called the doctor. He had some deep cuts, but they really do heal w/out scars. Turns out, though, that his skin was really dry and itchy. We used aquaphor and he stopped scratching. He does still go for the eyes when he is tired. Use the mittens/socks. They were a big help! For a while he was in them 24/7!
