She S A Screamer Help

My little pixie of a daughter who is 5 months is giving me a slight dilemma. She is the sweetest baby in the world, that is until I leave her field of view and then she wigs out. I'm not sure what to do. She will wake up at a pin drop so I can't get anything done when she sleeps. I hate telling my son to sit with her so I can get stuff done because he's only 5 and still a little guy himself. My dh has a hard labor job so I let him relax when he comes home, although he is a great help on his day off. My house is ready to fall apart. I'm getting ready to resort to the exersaucer/TV "babysitter" to get stuff done, but I feel guilty doing that. Any suggestions?

Hi Maggie: Gosh that sounds difficult! Have you tried a sling or a baby bjorn or something like that? That might be a good way to keep her close to you and still keep your hands free so you can go about what you need to get done. In terms of helping her stay asleep - have you tried any kind of white noise, like a fan or something, that she can fall asleep too so she won't be disturbed so easily? I'm sure some other moms will have lots better suggestions - my bun's still baking! :-) I'll be interested to see what kind of replies you get!

Maggie, has your daughter ever slept well? Could she be teething or something? Maybe you could put her in an infant swing to take naps in during the day. I know you may feel guilty about using the exersaucer but if she likes it and you can get things done, I don't see too much harm in it. Good luck!
