Spit Up King

Is it possible to just have a baby that spits up a lot? I have been reading and hearing so much about babies who have acid reflux, who are lactose intolerant and other ailments. My son spits up a lot and he does not ever seem to be in any pain. He actually smiles after he does it. Do any of you guys have babies that just spit up a lot?

My doc said some babies are "spitters". I had asked him because my daughter spits up without discomfort, and sometimes drools formula while she's eating. He checked her gag reflex and said she was fine.

How does a gag reflex check work? I have never heard of that before.

He put a tongue depresser in her mouth, toward the back of her throat, and she started coughing.

The coughing meant that she was fine? Sorry for all of the questions. Please bare (bear LOL) with me. *corny? i know*

I think it's pretty normal. I remember my little brother threw up so much we called him the Duke of Puke the first year of his life!

Yes, the cough was what she was supposed to do...I don't mind the questions at all, I was worried about my daughter, not just spitting up, but she used to choke on her formula a lot, so I asked the doctor at the two-month checkup. (She was spitting up as I asked about it :-)

Can't be bothered to log in so posting as a guest lol! My oldest son would spit up everything. It used to come out like something off the exorcist! It was so frightening. He did it with b___stmilk, formula, soya milk, it was when I put him on solids he stopped. But because he was gaining weight they wouldnt do anything about him.
