ava started out on enfamil with iron and was having painful gas and a hard time pooping.and when she was eating she would get fussy and not finish a bottle and an hour later want more her stools were good in consistancy but she had to push hard to get them out. the doc changed her to prosobee on the prosobee she is very constapated and the doc told me to put karo syrup in her bottels so i did she has had it in her bottels for 2 weeks and no change and she is still very gassy and its painful for her and she wont eat all of her bottle she will eat 1 or 2 oz fuss and not eat and then an hour later wake up crying for more food. we have been going through this since she was born and it is causing us to not only waste alot of formula but i feel so bad i dont know what to do for my little girl. i want to get the gripe water to help with her gas but i con only find it over the internet and i dont have a credit card and the mylicon didnt help. any advice ladies we are really having a herd time over here and i want to be able to get to know my baby instead of having to console her when she is awake. and thats another thing she wont sleep she falls asleep for 15min to an hour and wide awake again crying because she is in pain and i just dont know what to do

I don't really know what to tell you, except that we've been going through a similar thing. Garrett is 5.5 wks old andstarted out on the similac advance and was very ga__sy and had to work hard to poop every other day or more. The dr. switched us to similac isomil and that instantly constipated him bad and we struggling with that, but it's been about 9 days and i'm just now starting to see some improvement on the soy formula. I tried the mylicon drops and also gripe water and didn't notice any difference with any of it. Garrett was just horribly miserable for about 7 days when we switched him, now he's happier and not as ga__sy. Seems to pa__s it easier and not cry as much. But I've had to continue giving him water or juice water to help with the constipation. The gripe water I bought was $10 and I found it at a Kroger supermarket. I was really surprised they had it. Good luck, I hope Ava starts to feel better.

i ant even find the gripe water at the natural foods store. ava is miserable and the idiot doc told me no juice.(i call him an idiot because he truly is) i see an actual pediatrition tomorrow so hopefull she will have som insight for me. i have called every grocery store gone to walmart and every pharmacy and no gripe water.i am just stressed from all of it and not getting any sleep becasue she wont sleep more than an hour and her being so tired makes her even more cranky

I don't know if your lo's issues are the same as what mine had with the bad gas, but our miracle cure was Enfamil Gentlease formula in Dr. Browns bottles, with burping every 2-3 ounces of feeding. This gave us MAJOR improvement in his gas, but it was not 100% better until he was 5 months old and his system matured a bit.

thats another thing she burbed just fine on the enfamil with iron but now ahe wont burb i try and try but i cannot seem to get the sair out when i heard her swallow it. I am going to ask the doc about the gentle ease tomorrow and buy some dr browns bottels i know they are expensive but my baby is morth than worth every extra penny
