Ohh it broke my heart when my ds screamed bloody murder when he saw my mother (who he always sees by the way). I would sooth him and then when he'd see her face again he'd go back to screaming lol i think it really upset her but she tried not to show it. I know stranger anxiety is normal at this age(4months) but didn't know that it happpened with familiar people too...i need her to babysit for me next week and am afraid of leaving him with her. Apparently last time she babysat he did the same thing for hours...i just thought it was coz he missed me but today i was there too and made no difference..any suggestions? Thanks in advance

My dd just started doing this. she is 5 mo old,. My very best friend came over last week and she started holding dd. As soon as dd relized it wasn't me her bottom lips started quivering and then she started screaming!!! I felt so bad for both of them. I thought it might be because dd doesn't get to see my friend so much, but then at her grandmoms who baby sits her, she did the same thing. But as soon as I left the house she stopped. She has always been around people and I let family and friends hold her alot, to try to get her to be social, but this must just be a phase. So, I try to a__sure her it is ok and when people hold her and she gets scared I stand right beside them and talk to her, but if she really starts wailing I take her back. Maybe if you lo still crys even after you leave you could leave something of yours (like a pillow case that you slept on) with him so he still can smell you. Baby's are very scent oriented. Hopefully this phase pa__ses quickly.
