Teeth Grinding

My ds is 9 months old and his top 2 teeth just came in about a week ago. The last 2 days, he has been grinding his teeth during the day. The sound is sending chills down my spine!! Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this? I put his pacifier in his mouth as soon as he starts, but he just spits it back out within a few minutes. I try not to make too much fuss about it because I don't want him to think it is a game, but I am worried that he is going to grind what little of his teeth are there down to nothing.

my ds did the same thing there is not anything you can do just wait it out it did not last long and he hardly ever does it any more I think it is pretty normal though....just annoying to us parents LOL

rl- is right normal indeed wait it out and he will stop eventually. My son did it to I just ignored him and he stopped. If you pay attention to him doing it making a comment he will do it more.

I think it is a "front teeth" ritual. My dd just got hers about 2 weeks ago, and has been doing this too. I think she jsut figured out she can, so she does it!! We try to give her the paci, too, but that doesn't always work.

I hear ya Renea, my ds did this also at that age, and it made my skin crawl. He did this for about a month. Just a phase.
