Teething Advice

My DD has been drooling a TON since a little after 6 weeks, and she is 2 months old now. I have a feeling she's teething, even though it's so early.. what can I do for her? I know people use the teething rings you put in the fridge, but she can't really hold a toy yet so I'm not sure how well those would work. What else can you do for a teething baby? Also, what are the other signs of teething?

Drooling is not a sure sign your little one is teething. Babies will tend to drool more at that age anyway because they can't swollow their excess spit very well. But she could be teething...its isn't unheard of. Other signs are extra fussiness, pulling at ears, nightly waking where he/she will cry out like in pain, bum rash, white bud on under the gum line. There are more I am probably missing. You could hold the teething ring for her yourself. That's basically all you can do at that age. There is teething medication but its only recommended for 4 months and over. I also use crushed ice in my ds's mesh feeding which he sucks/chews on but I started that when he was 4-5 months old. I don't know if your lo will chew on it but its worth a try. GL.

My lo was the same way. Now she is 3.5 months and still drooling like crazy and chewing on anything she can get in her mouth, my hands, her hands, toys, birp cloths,. I just let her chew a way. Sometimes I will hold a cold teething toy in her mouth so she cacn chew on it- or wet a washcloth and let her chew on that.
