When can you start giving teething biscuits? My dd is 5.5 months and is eating solids.

I found that teething buscuits were easy to choke on. (same as postings from other thread). At 5 months he could gum it without breaking off pieces, which was OK, but shortly after, large pieces ended up in his mouth, so I stopped. He is 10 months now, I tried again, but still same thing happens. I found rice crackers or cherios were the best. Good luck.

My doctor told me to start giving my son who is now 7 months but was 6 months at the time a farley cookie, the doctor said they melt. I still have not been able to do it yet...just too scared.

I've been using plain graham crackers and my dd loves them. They seem to melt right in her mouth. I tried the teething bisquits also...scary!...big chuncks come right off those suckers.

why do they even make them if they are such a choking hazard.

I've wondered that myself.

I just checked out the package of the biscuits and it said for older babies 10+ months that are able to chew and mash with their gums. I still don't think I will ever give them to my dd again...
