Ten Week Old Gags On Pacifier

I swear there have been more frequent episodes of her gagging when I try and offer her the paci. She seems to want it and I wait for her to latch onto it, but then she starts to gag, and sometimes even throws up her meal! Does anyone else have this problem and how did you deal with it?

Are you using a 0-3 month size pacifier? I tried switching up to 3-6 month size on my 4 month and she kept gagging on it even though it's hardly that much longer. I'm not sure, but do they sell anything smaller than 0-3 month sized? (newborn or preemie) That might do the trick. For us, we just went back to the 0-3 month size for now and we'll try again in a few more months when her mouth is larger still.

I am using the 0-3 months, I guess that makes sense seeings as she never gags on her bottle nipples. They're tinier than the paci. Glug.

The pacifier nipple is touching her soft palate and that is why she is gagging and spitting or throwing up. I would go to Babies 'R' Us and look at all the different styles, maybe you will fing one that doesn't extend as far back. The other thing you can do is do a search online. I would go to 'ask' and try something like preemie pacifiers and see what you get.

My boy likes the cla__sic Nuk pacifiers the most. They are a little smaller and orthodontically shaped.

alexa gags sometimes... I find she only does it when she is expecting something else...ie: when she thinks shes going to eat..but we pull it back out give her a minute to regroup and slowly offer it again and shes fine.... shes on a 0-3 month paci..gl
