Throwing Up Versus Spitting Up

My ds is 6 months old. We started feeding him solids not too long ago. Sometimes after I feed him solids + formula, he will spit up (possibly after about 30 min or so). Now I'm not sure if he's just spitting up because he possibly ate too much, (which used to happen when we would give him just formula) or if he's throwing up because he can't stomach that particular food and it's a reaction to the food. Please help!

you can tell if he is throwing up. Spit up won't be much and it usually drbbles out of his mouth. (unless he spit up with a burp, then it might be a little more forceful) Throw up will be most of what he ate and ussually has some force behind it....My dd used to soak my t-shirt when she threw up after nursing. she also would gag and it could really fly out of her mouth. with spit up there can be a fair amount but it shouldn't really soad an enitre shirt or be all that forceful. Make sence?

plus reactions to food usually are rashes or loose stool or something to tha tnature, although I am sure vomiting could happen in some cases. I have been lucky enough not to have to worry too much about food allergies, just hoping that continues...

Throwing up can be a reaction to food. Try reducing the amount you feed him and if that doesn't stop it - omit that particular food.
