Thrush Now

My ds is 11 months old and still br___tfeeds. Just this week, he developed thrush! We went to the doc and got a prescription and everything and it is already looking better. I just thought it was odd to have no problems for 11 months and then all of a sudden get thrush. I am almost done br___tfeeding and now it happens? Just thought this only happens to newborns.

Actually it can happen anytime in the time when a baby b___stfeeds, a woman in a mothers group I go to just had a bout of it with her dd that is 15 months. She thought the exact same thing, she also ended up with it infecting her nipple, so watch out, it can do the ping pong effect and go back and forth between you.

the normal flora of a mouth WITH teeth include the bacteria that keep the thrush under control. Until your lo has enough teeth to maintain the bacteria, he is suseptible...regardless of b___st feeding or bottle. Have you tried yogurt? At that age yogurt is great for them anyway. It is a quick and easy cure for thrush. Give him a few bites throughout the day. You will see a remarkable difference in 24 hours...but keep up with it off and on for a week.
