And I mean BIG. My dd is 6 months old. She is wearing 24m pants and shirts, and her spring coat is a size 3T (the 2T fits her perfectly now, but definately wont fit in April/May). At what point did your little monster's growth slow down and stabilize? (If it did at all...?!?!)

I would also like to know the answer to this question. My little guy is only 12 1/2 weeks old and is in some 6/9 month clothing already.

My sisters lo's were large large babies, they slowed right down at 1 yo when they were weaned off of the formula. Now her 5 year old is sooooo tiny.

Good lo is appraching 5 mos and as of her 4 mos appt she was 18 1/2 lbs and 26 1/2 in long. She is wearing 6-9 and 6-12 month clothes now, but I dont think she will be in them for that long. She's my chubba bubba :-)

I would say right about 12 months they slow down, in the sense that they get a little taller but they really thin out. My little guy has been wearing 24 month clothes since he was 11 months old. He is almost 16 months and still wearing either 24 month or 2T. He has gained weight but somehow he has gotten slimmer, probably from walking and running constantly and being too impatient to finish a decent meal!

It probably wont slow down. My 4 year old was a 10 lb baby is the tallest in her preschool cla__s, still 95% for height and weight for her age. My 14 month old son is freakishly big (so that peoples eyes pop out of their head when I say his age) and he is in a 3T, so your 6 month old must be enormous.

Drea.. you'll be in the same boat as me.. at 5 months my lo was wearing 9-12 mos. Then it seemed like she wore 12-18 for 2-3 weeks, and then 18m for a week, and has now escalated onto 24m... when they hit a growth spurt, they REALLY grow...

Nerdygirl... only her coat is a 3T... and I plan for it to fit her in 2 months.. and over lightweight spring clothes. Like I said, the 2T fits her now... but just barely.. and would never fit in april/may.. which is why I had to get the 3T...

My son was 10lbs when he was born and he was big and wore bigger sizes for a long time. Now at 14 months he is 27 lbs and has been for months now. He wears 18-24 months and I plan on that fitting him this spring/summer too. He has slowed down a lot.

Can she wear 2T pants already? If so, she must be really tall because I still cuff 2T pants on my lo. If she's in 2T/3T simply because of girth (chubby) then that will most likely change once she starts crawling/walking. If she is already TALL enough for 2T's and 3T's, well then I think you just have a large child and will be shopping in the Juniors department when she is 3. (LOL.... just kiddin)

I think it can either way. My oldest was 9 lbs. 5 oz. at birth and was big on the charts for a few months and dropped off drastically and is now in the 20th% for height and weight at 6 1/2 (and has been for a few years), but my youngest was 10 lbs. 6 oz. and 22 3/4" at birth and he is still at the 93% for height and 75th% for weight at 19 months and wears 2T and 3T... he's only 2 lbs. and 2" smaller than my 3yo LOL. Anyway, my 2 big babies seem to be taking different growth patterns!
