To New Moms W A Partner Sleep For You

I want to share a little blessing that saved my sanity while Aja was very young and was waking a lot. On the weekends, DH (who got a full nights sleep in another room) would come into my and Aja's room and relieve me for several hours. It was essential. At 6:30am, we would switch rooms and I could sleep until my hearts content. Usually I would wake up at 10am, quite rested. I highly recommend it if you have a partner who gets more sleep than you. DH had to work everyday, so I felt that he should sleep undisturbed on the weekdays but come Saturday morning, Twas my turn!! :)

Oh, how I wish my DH would do that for me...but even if he says he will, he won't...he does stay up with her some nights, but once he's asleep, he stays asleep, and I'm the one who has to get up. Fortunately, she sleeps through the night most nights.

My husband has gotten up four times to feed Sophia, and she's 8 weeks old today. He wasn't like that with our first, we would alternate feedings throughout the night.

My husband does the same thing on Saturday morning, and it is wonderful! Thank the Lord for thoughtful husbands.
