My miscarriage was at 9+ weeks so I knew for sure I was pregnant and had already had an ultrasound. I started spotting lightly, then heavily and finally went to the Dr. for another untrasound. Turns out they baby had stopped growing at about 7 weeks. It was devestating and took me a really long time to get over it. I have a feeling you are experiencing side effects from your IUD. Maybe someone with an IUD can offer more advice. I wish you well.

I had missed a period, took a test and found out I was pregnant, then started spotting that same day. I actually carried the baby for a few weeks. I went in at 6 weeks and there was a weak heartbeat. At 10 weeks, the brown spotting went to pink, so I had another u/s, but the baby had died. My best friend lost hers in a very short amount of time (an hour) with a lot of bleeding. They can happen different ways. If you think there's a possibility you were or are pregnant you should test. If you did m/c you will likely show a + test and should see your doc right away to make sure there isn't tissue still in there, which I a__sume would be made even more complicated if you have an IUD. Did they make you do a pregnancy test before your IUD was placed (sorry for my ignorance, I never had one)... if so it would be unlikely that you got pregnant, but stranger things... y'know?

Are you supposed to have periods with IUDs (again, excause my ignorance lol). Maybe the IUD just screwed up your period? I've had clotty periods before (TMI, sorry).

they can tell when they go in for the IUD if oyur pregnant or not b/c they open your cervix...to insert in your uteris

my sister got a iud and had the same thing happen but she wasn't pregnant the doctor told her that the iud was effecting her system and that it shoudl stop like a regular period and now she only gets a 1 day period and no cramping sounds like just your iud

ok good, i was getting nervous, i did alot of research on IUDs and couldnt find it, also i was told IUDs you can still get pregnant and they result in tubal pregnancy's then miscarridges

Deirdra, you can have EXTREMLY heavy periods and bad cramps for the first 6-12 months of getting an IUD. I did when I had my first one....I have another that I had inserted in October 06, but still have not started my period, so I'm not sure if they are going to be as bad this time around.
