At what age to they develop "growing pains?" My dd has been complaining for last few days of her legs and back hurting, which is unusual for her. I was just curious if that's a real thing or just something our parents always told us. She's 4 1/2 by the way.

Three to four years is my experience. I give my children tylenol when thery complain it must hurt them to complain.

I'm glad I read this. I have a 4yo too, but so far no complaints of pain. Now I will know if she does complain.

I never thought that was an actual thing, but my bf's son is having them. He's 4 1/2, too. When's your dd's b-day. My bf's son's is June 27. Anyway, my oldest never complained of any, but lately my dd always says her feet hurt! I wonder if that's what it is?

sahmof3...her b-day is June 8. I just feel bad for her b/c she doesn't complain like that.

my daughter started complaining around four that her legs bothered her but she never said anything about her back. Sounds like your daughter is at the right age though.

my dd is 3 1/2 and she's been complaining about pains in her legs (she points to her shins) for about 6 months now. It's usually at night, sometimes she'll wake up crying. She also says her back hurts every now and then. It's usually when she has to pee, so I thought maybe she had a UTI or something, but her doc said it's normal.
