My ds for the last three days has been sticking his tongue out constantly he went to his 2 cousins b-day party yesterday and everyone was ask why is he sticking his tongue out at me. I could only say "its his latest thing"...He hardly has in back in his mouth. You touch it and he puts it back in for a bit but then its suck back out again. Did anyones else lo go through this phase...by the way he turned 5 months old on Thursday.

Yes, my ds went through it when he was 8-9 wks old. He stopped doing it after a week or so. They discover so many things their tongue can do. Now at 9 months my ds makes clicking & sucking sounds with his tongue continously.

my dd does this too but I think its because her gums are bothering her. SHe runs her tongue back and forth over her bottum gums

My 3 month old daughter has recently discovered her tongue, too. She wants to lick everything, and sometimes lets her tongue hand out until she has slobbered all down her shirt (or mine!)

my 20 week old son discovered b__wing saliva bubbles recently. He constantly has drool running down his chin and bubbles coming out of his mouth!

Yes, my son did this right around 5 months old also. We just thought that it was cute, like a little lizard. He stopped it a couple of weeks after he started it. A week before he turned 6 months old he got his first tooth. Don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

KoGreer, my daughter discovered she could b__w the spit bubbles, too. Apparently she cares very little about the cute shirts I'm putting on her, as they're soaked within a few minutes and she laughs at me while she's doing it. :-)
