can you eat tuna while you are br___tfeeding? i knew it wasnt allowed to have it while preggo. but its my favourite and baby is 6 months now and i would just love to have a tuna sandwich!

Light tuna is lower in mercury than white / albacore tuna. I think I read that 1 serving a week is safe. My Dr. says there's no problem. Enjoy!

I was under the impression that it was still a no-no because of the mercurycontent. I don't know if ONE sandwich would be considered unsafe though.

I'd say you have the same guidelines as when you were pregnant. Mr dr said very limited amounts was fine (one can a week).

I also follow the pregnancy recommendation: 6oz of tuna a week.
