Typical Day For A 6 Week Old

Hi, I've been reading lots of books, but I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm br___tfeeding, and my son, Rory, eats about every 2 hours. He generally naps during the day... sometimes has wakeful periods between 9 a.m. and Noon and for a two-hour stretch in the evenings (varies). The books I'm reading talk about "play" and "milestones," but I don't think I'm seeing much... He does lift his head during "tummy time," but doesn't do much "tracking" when prompted. I've also read about how he is supposed to really like looking into my eyes for long periods of time, but he really doesn't do that, either. He also has become very fussy during some feedings. This makes me wonder whether he is having tummy troubles. But, I don't want to overreact. Can anyone report similar experience... are the books showing an unrealistic ideal???
