Waking At Night Need Cereal

my dd is 3 1/2 months and will be 4 months on the 25th. The past couple of nights she has been waking in the middle of the night and had been previously sleeping through the night for awhile now. Does anyone have any ideas why? Is she not getting enough milk that she is ready to start cereal?

you could try a bit of cereal but I have heard it really does not help. what I did was I would feed cereal to my ds and then give him a formula bottle as well before bed. I would give the cereal (spoon feed) mixed with some formula that would be about 1/2 hour before bedtime then right before bedtime give him about 6 oz of formula and he slept great thru the night but as I said that works for some but not all so I say try and see what happens. good luck!!

As per the APA los should not be started on ceral until 6 months now unless there are health issue such as reflux. IMO and its just that I don't feel filling los with cereal is the answer it could be a growth spurt that requires a feeding and getting the proper nutrion she needs from that.

Only you alone can answer that renee. You are the mother and you know your child better than anyone else. I also was told not to start cereals before 6 months blah blah blah, but at 2 months dd was starving i just knew it and i started giving her cereals and she slept through her nights right away. I told my pediatrician about it on our last visit and he said it was fine. She is now 4 months and eats cereals twice a day along with fruits and veggies. Maybe its because she is a big baby that the ped didnt mind but anyways everyone will tell you different things but i tell you to follow your gutt feeling. By the dd is in the 98 percentile for both weight and height and her clothes are already size 12 months and she is only 4 months so she isnt lacking of anything here ! lol
