hi ladies: i know there are a lot of sleep ?s but i am getting desperate here... my son sleeps well thru the night but at 7 months, he is now starting to wake earlier and earlier... like 4:30 or 5:00... and ready to start the day... he was a 6am'er, but now it's just getting ridiculous... we tried the later bedtime, and we tried the earlier bedtime (per Healthy Sleep Habits...), but it seems as though nothing's working... do you think it's just a phase? i really want to nip it in the bud so any suggestions would REALLY be appreciated...thanks!

sorry RB i am having sleep issues too. I wish I could help you. If your son can sleep on his own and fall back asleep after waking up then this might be just a phase. I don't know if there is anything you can do. Sorry.

I feel for you RB and nic nac. I am dealing with the exact same thing as you RB. My son is 8 1/2 months old and since he was 4 1/2 months he has slept from 7-8 until 6-6:30. He has always fallen asleep on his own and does not wake in the middle of the night, but it seems he wakes earlier and earlier (4:30-5:00). Part of me thinks it's just the changes he is experiencing; teething, beginning to crawl. Becuase it's been a week or so of crazy waking times and then today he woke up at 6. I can deal with 6 but 4:30-5 is too early. I wish I could offer advice, but I think we just have to kind of go with the flow. Much luck to you!

I tried Heathly Sleep Habits..., it didn't work for us. The only other thing I can think of is maybe to cut down on daytime napping. Otherwise has it be going on long? and could it be just a phase. Every now and then my dd will just wake up in the middle of the night for no reason and want to play.

Does he wake from hunger? I have been told to increase the solid foods later in the evening to keep them full through the night. It may be something to try. I have noticed that kids seem to outgrow one schedule and adapt to a new one. Hopefully this is just a phase and he will outgrow it too!

RB have you tried feeding ds when he wakes and laying him back down? It has always bought me an hour of two with ds.

hi ladies; thanks for the advice - this morning was 6:10 so that's bearable - he went to sleep at 8 last night and woke once at 1130'ish - i just gave him his paci and went back to sleep so i'm not sure if he cried or not :) i feel so bad for everyone who's having sleep issues but i keep reminding myself that this will pa__s ... i have bumped his whole day forward one hour starting with a 9am nap, then 1'ish, and that's it for the day... he seemed not TOO grumpy last night before bed so we'll have to see... i'm sure it's partially teething, partially him wanting to play, and not hunger tho... i don't feed him until at least 6:30-6:45 everymorning and he seems to be okay... not crying for food etc... well , good luck to you nicnac, kelleyb! and thanks again ladies!
