I'm sitting here at work ( a new job, i just started last week) trying to figure out this darn printer. it was working fine until Monday, when my boss put in a new black ink cartridge. Now all of a sudden when we print pictures, the green shows up fluerescent!! We need the printer to print quality pics for flyers (I work in a real estate office), and now they all look horrible. I've been trying to figure this out and I can't. I've messed with all the settings, installed a new printer driver (advice from hp techs), and recalibrated the printer about a million times. I'm starting to get frustrated. It's going to take at least 3 days to get a new cartridge, if that's what's wrong. Does anyone have any clue what I can do?!?!?

This works for me sometimes....unplug the printer from the power source. Pick the printer up. Slam it back down really hard then beat it three times on the side. Now plug it back in.......I should mention that sometimes this doesn't work....lol.

I would venture to say never never let your boss near a computer printer even if you have to kill him first.

You could also do a nozzle cleaning. Sometimes when you replace cartridges it clogs up the nozzles thus making it different colors. Usually in the settings it has a place where it says.. clean nozzles. You could also take the cartridge out and put it back in ORR she may have done it opposite putting the color in the black spot and the black in the color spot. Those are just a couple of things Id first check.. GOOD LUCK! ~Kristin~

I would think if you tried all those other options, the cartridge itself is bad. It happens they way they ma__s produce those thing. I have had that happen to me at least 10 times in my life.

thanks guys! Briannasmummy, is the nozzle cleaning option on the printer iteself? i'll have to check into that. jb, I think the cartridge might be defective, but the black itself prints fine, just doesn't seem to mix with the other colors....i sooooo don't want to spend all day today trying to fix this again. lol

The nozzle cleaning option should be on the computer in the programming of it. It should be in your start menu. ~Kristin~
