Ok i cant believe that i'm going to type this, its totally embarrassing but i hope that it can help someone in the future. Here it goes. I got my first PP Period (as most of you know!) and along with it i got a yeast infection. I have never had success with the over the counter stuff so my doctor called in a prescription (not diflucan, but 3 suppositories) She said it is ok to use br___tfeeding. Well, i get the prescription and in big bold uppercase letters it said "DO NOT USE IF b ___stFEEDING" I'm like WTF? So i call my doctor and she says "well in the medical and drug book it says that there can be effects on the br___tfeeding baby, but I've prescribed this to many br___tfeeding women and ive never had a problem" Can you believe that!! I was like "So because you don't know of any problems personally you just go and prescribe it when the package clearly says not to use it if your br___tfeeding" SO needless to say, i tossed it. Monitstat wasn't an option because they just don't work for me. So, i went online looking for a cure!! I read on more than a few websites about using plain no sugar added yogurt. So i decided to try it. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM. It was cold, but the cold felt good. I used a big medicine dropper (that i bought special for the occasion) and used it before bed so it would stay in there (because as soon as you stand up it all comes out) I just wanted to let you all know that it worked, and i would recommend it to anyone, br___tfeeding or not, as a cheap, non-medicinal way to treat the yeastie beastie!! (hope no one was eating yogurt while reading this!!) Take care!!

Whoa...I thought your were suposed to EAT the yogurt to get rid of the yeast infection not actually insert it into your v____a! That's interesting......Shows how much I know : )

Thats what i thought too....hannahbaby, are you sure you didnt read it wrong ? lol There are reports that show EATING yogurt can prevent you from getting an infection, but not umm, inserting it.......lol but if it worked for you ...great !

LOL, i know i know! But the thought of EATING the yogurt is that the Lactobacillus acidophilus (which helps prevent the yeast infection) will go through your intestine, be pooped out, then small amounts will travel from your a__s to your v____a.....ALot of doctors don't believe it. I didn't know about using yogurt v____ally until the other day when i was researching (also, some other home remedies are using a clove of garlic wrapped in cheese cloth and using honey (make sure you shave first though!)

The yeastie beastie...lol...that's a new one I've not heard. I used to work with 2 sisters who swore by plain yogurt douches for a yeast infection.....they said it was what their mom always used. It sure is cheaper than Monistat!

"clove of garlic wrapped in cheese cloth and honey?" this is soooo funny!!!! Next thing you know, you (hannahbaby) are going to be doing the "naked rain dance." HAAHEEEHOO! I'm glad it worked...Yinfections SUCK!

This info is directly from Pregnancy-Info.net::::::::::::"Alternatively, yogurt has long been known to help treat yeast infections. Yogurt contains acidophilus bacteria, which kills off the yeast. However, you need to use plain yogurt that contains live acidophilus bacteria with no added sugar. You can apply the yogurt directly to your v____a to treat your yeast infection. Many women have also found that simply eating yogurt can help prevent a yeast infection from occurring."

Hannahbaby, I didn't mean anything by it : ) I was just making a joke, its me, bekysu, I changed my username. I sent out a thread earlier so people would know. I am very glad that it worked and I would have tried anything too. By the way, how long did you have to use it? One, two, three nights?
