Weird Question About Me

Silly, but I could use some help, lol. I had my son 11/30 and ever since the first day I was at the hospital, my nose was stuffy and bled. I asked the dr and he said the air was just dry. Now, for two months I have used Nasal Spray to loosen up my nose. My "boogers" (LOL I don't know how else to say it) get really hard and I have a hard time breathing...any suggestions on what I can do? Should I just go to my doctor? Embarassing to ask but now i'm getting annoyed. hehe. -Ashley

Are you using saline drops or decongestant nasal spray? I know my dr. had told me not to use decongestant sprays as it creates a vicious cycle of dependency in that your nose can't "do it's job" (lol...like you, I don't know how else to say it). So, if you are using decongestant then it would probably be best to stop that and switch to a saline only spray. If you are already using just a saline then there are probably other factors contributing to your problem. Winter time is especially bad for that problem since you are probably running a heat source in your home which contributes to dry air. Maybe try running a humidifier to put some moisture back into the air in your home.

Ditto on the humidifier. We just got one to help with baby's congestion. Added bonus, I'm not b__wing out blood in the morning anymore.

no it's just the saline! hehe. I live in Minnesota...we've been having -20 below WITHOUT wind chill!!!

My hubby and I had similar problems. We found out that homes in very cold winter climates (like you, and us) with the heat running all the time it actually gets DRYER than the Sahara Desert!! Seriously! I might buy 2 humidifers so one can stay in the living room with you as well, that's how we have to do it here.
