I am soooo sad...I start work on Monday. I am going to miss Caleb sooooo much. The sad part about it is that by the time we get hom it will be around 6 pm and he goes to sleep at 7 pm. There is nothing I can do to keep him up...he is miserable and just wants to be put to bed. We went from 12 hours together to only 1 hour. This is too sad.....any working moms out there that are going through the same thing?

Sorry Monica, I will be spending at least the next year at home with Jesse. Are you going to be working 5 days? It's going to be so hard for you. What kind of work do you do? Will you still be able to "chat" with us like Rachaelmommy2lucas?

Oh I feel sooo bad for you. How long were you on maternity leave? I am on for 12 wks but asked for an extra 2 off cus I've been doing a lot of work from home so I don't go back till January 17th. It's going way too fast. I have the opportunity to do transcrition at home for a little less pay and then there's no daycare. I told myself to try going back to work to see how I handle it. If I can't then I can still work at home and pay the bills. Is your son going to daycare or will he be with family? I have a friend that hardly gets to see her son cus she doesn't get home till after dinner also. Unfortunately he started calling his daycare provider "mom" and it just broke her heart. Is there any possiblity of changing jobs or going part-time? I feel for ya. Luckily I get off at 3:30 and live only blocks from work and my daycare is next door so I won't be wasting time commuting. I'm still not looking forward to going back though :( I guess we do what we have to. It sucks.

I will be working full time monday - friday 7:30 am to 4:15 but I have a long commute and have to pick up my 5 year old from school so by the time i get home with the kids its close to 6. Needless to say I wont be cooking dinner :) Yes I can still chat....I was working when I ran into this forum...I just wont have time to be working on my website anymore.....I think I am addicted to this forum.....:)

heidi unfortunatly my husband is trying to find himself and does self employment. So I have to provide medical and dental insurance through my job. I have a good job and its pretty much my career. I do however plan on working part time in a couple of years as soon as my husband gets it together....the good thing is that my mom will be taking care of my son. He sees her almost everyday so I dont think it will be so hard on him.

heidi forgot to mention that I have been off of work since july 8...my son was born on july 26.

Just out of curiosity, what does your husband wants to do? Job wise i mean. And i am so happy for you your mom can take care of Caleb. But you have to update his website at least once a month!!! You "owe" us that LOL!

monica - December 3

I know I have gone website crazy!!! Oh my husband.....right now he has been contracted by a company to work with buyers and he needs to get the buyers to buy their electronic parts from his company. Sounds so complicated I can not even describe it right. He is also studying to get into real estate and loans....my dad has his own real estate company and my husband wants to take over when he retires.

I think my biggest weakness is picture taking.I have printed most of the pictures on mydigital camera, but the memory card keeps "counting" and I am already over 900 pictures and 95% of that is jesse related.I am so obsesed! LOL.I also have 4 websites on him.2 of them are "public' like the 2 i have posted here, and then i have 2 that are for friends and family. Most of my family lives in Holland,so it's hard to keep up with that many.And....I just love this website. And you are right, your hubbies work sounds complicated, but i think it's a good idea about the real estate. My mom does that too.And my FIL back in Holland.Runs on both sides of the family. One thing i was wanting to ask you,how did Caleb like the jumparoo/or excersaucer.Which one did you get?

monica - December 3

I got him the exersaucer....I got him the evenflo deluxe...which is the most basic one....not light or music just toys....he likes it but only for 10 -15 minutes at a time...he gets fustrated because he wants to put everything in his mouth and some of the toys are hard to get into his mouth and thats when he gets upset. So he starts to cry and I take him out. Does Jesse have one?

Shelly - December 3

Not yet,i thought he was still too young, but I think I will get him one for christmas.I have to get one with lights and sound etc.he just loves that.He adores his bounce with lights and sounds. It is so cute.Question since caleb and jesse are about the same age.Do you pull his foreskin to clean him or not.One pediatrician told me to do it and the other one told me not to.Jesse is not circ_msised though.

Heidi - December 3

Oh wow you got a nice long leave at least!!! And lucky for you your mom will be watching him. I wish my mom could be she has rheumatoid arthritis so bad that she can't handle my 7 wk old very long and of course she's only going to get heavier and start to want to be held more so it's not possible for her to watch her.

monica - December 3

Caleb is circ_mcised. but for some reason I still have to pull some skin to clean it very well. From what I know if your baby is not circ_mcised you are not suppose to pull the foreskin until later on. I just dont know at what age it suppose to be done.

Sorry to hear you are going back to work. I feel for you. My dh is self employeed in construction so I plan on staying home as long as I can. Icould not imagine leaving him. I will be thinking of you. As long as your family is taking care of him you know he is OK. I know one day I will end up going back to work. I am a RN so I dont think I will have a hard time finding a job.

Sonya - December 3

I know how you feel Monica. I had to go back to work after my first son was born (after 8 weeks) and I hated it. I had the insurance too so I really had to go back. Luckily, our situation has changed and now I am staying home for my second . I am just loving it. Just and FYI, you can get health insurance independently online through comapnies like Blue Cross Blue Sheild. If you don't want maternity coverage it is pretty reasonable.

Monica, My little jasmin is 1 month old, im planning to go back to wrk part time when shes 6 months to keep my job open and increse as she gets older, I did not like the thought of going back to work and before i had her thought i would never want to go back, but i love my job, dont forget though that good nurserys are great places for child development, I used to work in one and children buid their confidence, make friends, learn to share, meet other adults, do loads of activit_tes youd never have the energy to do at home, get to paint everywhere!!! im sure they have a social advantage when going to school, its normal to be sad but think of the positives, I just visited a nusery yesterday and they said its so much easier when they start as babies, harder if they start as toddlers, yes your son might really like his carers at nursery but noone replaces mummy. someone else on here said their friends child ended up calling a worker mummy, well the nursery i worked in there were around 50 children and non of them had this, i think her friends child must have been coaxed into it, so dont worry about that
