My 2 week old has such bad gas that he is up at night from it...any suggestions on wjat to do?? My dr. said that switching formula wouldnt help, especially since he is doing well on it (no spit up, regular bowels). I just feel so bad, and I need to sleep too... Thanks!

Hi, my son was very ga__sy when he was really small too, he also had regular bm's and no spit up, and the doc switched us to soy formula which was terrible and constipated him and made him much worse, then I switched him to enfamil gentlease, and he's been great ever since. I also give him the mylicon gas drops with most of his bottles. He's 11wks now. He's like a different baby, so happy and much more comfortable now. I highly recommend this formula!! Ds couldn't handle any of the similac formulas.

Have you tried pedalling his legs to help the gas to move through his system a little easier? Try it after he eats for 5 to 10 minutes. Do this for a couple of days to see if it seems to be helping. Eventually his little digestive system will catch up (I hope!)

Sometimes gripe water or oval drops help. You can buy them at wal-mart or the grocery store. A warm water bottle/heating pad laid on the baby's tummy. Just make sure it's not too hot.
