I still do and my son is almost 9 months old. I was actually just wondering this the other day.

I stopped burping my dd when she could sit up on her own. She usually would finish her bottle, want to sit up and 10 out of 10 times she let a big burp rip.

I think when they are atleast crawling. That way they are moving around on their own and can expel the gas without help.

I stopped around 6 months.

My little on is 1 now and occasonaly I burp her. I know she is old enough. She has always been a spitter upper so t avoid it I do. If she doesn't burp pretty quick I stop but most of the time she does it fast. I know I baby her way to much!

i never habitually burped Ethan. But he was b___stfed...and burping a b___stfed baby isn't necessary. Shucks, he's 5 1/2 months old and still exclusively b___stfed and I can't remember the last time I physically burped him. Usually once he is upright he will burp on his own if he needs to.

i still burp my daughter and she is 18 months old lol..... No joke .... cause i am serious if there is one of those things still in her before her night time sleep she will cry with pain....... so maybe she stops when she is an adult, god knows..........she is meant to have a cup of milk and not a bottle so i am a__suming once i am brave enough to get rid of that bottle.............

I stopped around 6 months...that was around when they starting sitting on their own and always seemed to burp themself. I would probably still give them a pat on the back to help things along if they weren't burping by themselves and seemed to be in pain.
