I was only dilated to 1 cm for a couple days before I went into labor, but my SIL's cousin was dilated to....get ready for this.....5 whole cms, for 3 whole weeks, before she finally went into labor!!!

kvilendrer, I am having a boy, Isaiah, When my doctor told me I was 2cm I was like YESS!! soon he'll come! Im at the point where I want to sleep all the time and cant get comfortable unless im in aircontintion.. I didnt mind being pregnant but now.. I just want to feel normal again. My belly gets in the way all the time.. I get painfull contractions but not the real thing.. I actually cried today because I am so tired of feeling lazy, I want to have my energy back.. I also have a 2yr old boy running around.. man o man can he get me worn out. How are you ladies holding up with everything, dont you get overwhelmed? I have a great husband that'll help so much but im still miserable. Im normally not this cranky

KellynJ, congrats on the boy!!! They're a lot of fun, aren't they?? I have an 8 month old. I know what you mean when you say your belly gets in the way all the time. I had the hardest time getting to sleep...i couldn't find a comfortable position.

KellynJ, I am with you! I was happy being pregnant until about a month ago, now I just want it to be over! Belly is always in the way and the back pain, and of course knowing that she would be considered full term if she was born now (I'm almost 38 weeks) and that I could see her any day....*sigh* At 37 weeks, I was 50% effaced and 1cm dilated, so I'm figuring it's going to be a while.

I just gave birth two days ago and when I was 28 weeks I was 2-3cm dialated and put on bedrest in the hospital for 5 weeks and then at home on bedrest for 3 weeks. I went and saw my doctor on Monday when I was 38 weeks and I was 4-5cm dialated and just some tightening I probably could have gone longer but my MD decided to induce me on Tuesday morning. I went in at 6am and had my baby girl at noon. It was so easy because when I got in I was able to get an epideral right away. So for some people you can be dilated for several weeks.

you're right kellynJ, ever since i started staying home with my son, he's gotten so much more attached to me. It's like every time I pick him up, he lays his head on my shoulder and just cuddles. It's the best! It's wonderful to have someone make you feel like you're the most wonderful person in the world. He smiles and gets so excited when he just sees me....if i walk by him, he holds his arms up for me to pick him up. It's great!!!

kvilendrer, thats so wonderful you have a close bond with your son, I love hearing mommys who just adore and cherish every little moment with thier children, its truly a gift. are you pregnant now? you said you had your son.. that had to be a pain in the behind being dilated for that 2 weeks... gee wiz.. i am so ready to push this angel (sucker) out.. just kiddin but I feel so.. pregnant.

i'm not pregnant yet. We're ttc right now. I ovulate in a little over a week. Yes, it was a pain being dilated for that long. B/c he was sitting so low in my pelvis, it hurt SOOOOOOOO bad. Every time I would move or get up from sitting, i felt like crying it hurt so bad.
