Has anyone used Cervidel to jumpstart labor? If so, was it successfull and how long of labor did you have?

Yes, used Cervidil to induce labor at 38wk 3 days. We used no Pitocin and I did not allow the artificial rupture of my membranes. I checked into the hospital around noon and was set up with the Cervidil around 12:30 - 12:45. My dd was born about eight hours later. I did not use an epidural but did have a shot of Nubain. I think I was about 2cm when I got to the hospital. Baby weighed over 10 lbs, v____al birth.

Yes. Used Cervidel to induce labor the night before due date. I was set up with the Cervidel around 9:30 pm. I didn't feel any labor pains until early the next morning around 6:00 am. This was also the time I first noticed excessive v____al bleeding. The doctors thought it may be the placenta pulling away from the uterus and decided to do a c-section. However, they didn't recognize the severity of the bleeding and delayed the c-section until around 1:30 that afternoon. I ended up needing 3 units of blood after the c-section. The pathology on the placenta did not show it to be the source of the bleeding. It is possible that the Cervidel was the cause. I do not know.

I was given 2 doses of cervidel 12 hours apart & after 2 more days stil no baby, I also had 3 doses of Cytotec along with Pitocen. I finally begged for a c-setion, please beg for yours sooner. My kidneys shut down 3 days later...8 months later, very heathly daughter & mommy!! Very scary though.
