My mom's longest labor was about 3 hours. Those who have had chilren, were your labors similar to your mothers? Or do I just have high hopes;)

Well, I'd say you have a good chance.... I come from birthin' people, so to speak. Grandmother on BOTH sides, 7 children in 9 years. My mother, 4 children in 8 years. Mom's longest active labor was 4 hours. Mine, when I FINALLY went into labor.... 4 hours. My sister was the same.. just over 4 hours. Good luck!

My mom had 2 really easy labors...every woman in my family did. Then, when it was my turn, after 24 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing, I ended up with a c-section. So...I think it's pretty much luck of the draw.

I agree with Jamie, my Grandmother pushed out 5 kids with no trouble. Then my mother had a 23 hour labor with me, only dialated to 7 and had to have an immediate emergency c-section. There doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to who gets spared from hard deliveries.

Wondering - November 21

I have just posted a question asking the same thing!! how weird. My mum has had two children and very quick painfree labours, she went into labour with me at 6 .10 am and i was born at 7.25 am, similar story with my sister, i hope i'm the same!!!
