Kind of minor, but what should I wear at the hospital during labor? I've never worn a nightgown in my life, but will pjs be impractical?

They may make you wear a hospital gown but if you have a choice you should wear whatever is most comfortable. Obviously pants are out of the question because the doctors will need to keep checking your dialation. Otherwise your best bet to aviod a hospital gown is to bring a nightgown or a long nightshirt. And sorry but yes pj's would be impratical is they aren't nighgowns. Good luck.

Hi, I was told at my cla__ses that it's best to wear the hospital nightgown if you don't want to ruin your own clothes. I plan to do that since they give you the baby immediately after where I will deliver and clean them while they are on you so it can get pretty messy. For after, I packed comfortable yoga type pants and shorts and nursing tank tops and t-shirts. I was not sure what to bring and so I hope that this is appropriate.

Wear something old, that you don't mind getting stained, because from my experience, labor was very messy. My water's broke unexpectedly, as I was walking around the hospital corridors. I was surprised just how much blood there was after the birth too, and those maternity pads weren't enough to soak up the blood for the first few days, and I leaked on my brand new nightshirt and robe, even though I was wearing 2 pads at a time! 4 weeks on, I'm still bleeding, but it's controllable now.
