I am beyond grief at this point. I am hoping that someone will read this question and be able to shead a bit of light on it for me. I found out 3 weeks ago that I was pregnant and had two sacs. Last week, they only found one heartbeat(quite strong, 163 bpm) and they other sac was dissolving(it never developed). Today, my husband and I went in for an u/s to find out that the heart beat is now gone. The doc is checking my blood levels and is following up with us tomorrow. He said that with a twin gestation, it is common for the "orphaned" embryo to not survive with the odds against it. This is my first pregnancy and I am having a very hard time coping. If anyone has had this same situation before, I would like to hear about it.

I'm sorry Kat, and understand what you're going thru...at 7 weeks my baby had a heartbeat, then 2 weeks later when we went back for a routine ultrasound, there was no longer a heartbeat :( Like you, my doc has been checking my blood levels and the pregnancy hormones have now gone down, so I am sched for D&C next week. Good luck to you, I hope your outcome is beter than mine!
