Abnormal Pap Smear During Pregnancy

Has anyone had an abnormal pap during pregnancy? I just had one and I'm worried. What'd you do??

Its nothing to worry about, it maybe hpv, it sometimes is triggered by hormonal changes. Most cases if goes away on its own if not you and get it removed. 80 % of the population has it and is not even aware. I had it and it went away. Just take a a breath and know it will not harm your baby.

Don't worry. I have had 4 abnormal pap smears over the past 15 years (since I was 19), and I've never had any type of cervical cancer or even had HPV (which is the virus responsible for 99% of cervical cancers). You can get a blood test to find out if you have had HPV, and if you haven't, I wouldn't worry. I've also had 2 colposcopys (the follow up invetigation for abnormal PAPs), and everything was normal. My doctor told me that something as minor as a yeast infection can cause an abnormal PAP, and there are frequently false positives. You'll be OK!

A friend of mine had an abnormal pap during her pregnancy. They did a colposcopys and she was fine and her baby is perfect.

I just had an abnormal pap and have to go for a colpospy when i will be 17wks preggo.Some pregnant women just have abnormal paps.Dont stress like i did when the doctor first told me.The baby will be fine.He will prob just give you a colpospy.Goodluck and keep us posted-I go for mine on Oct 13
