I just got a call from my doctor saying that they have to send me to another facility for more test. They said that the test came back highrisk for down syndrom! How can this be I have been so careful I do not even work!!! How accurate are the test! I am very frightened!

Plenty of people, including lots of women on this forum, have had false positives with AFP tests. In fact, many doctors don't even administer that test for that reason. However, being "careful" or not working don't have anything to do with whether your child will have Down syndrome. Ask any mom who has ever had something wrong with her child. I don't think working mothers have a higher incidence of birth defects than nonworking moms. I could be wrong, I guess.
