Bacterial Vaginosis BV

I am on my 19th weeks of pregnancy. I recently went to e.r. complaining of hardening & tightening of my abdominal muscles. I thought I was having preterm labor symptoms. The e.r. doc ran a couple of test from me. From the pap smear, he found I had "Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)." He then prescribed Flagyl 250 mg TID. I was pretty surprise to learn that I have BV because I wasn't having any symptoms from it. Does anyway ever diagnosed with this during their second trimester of pregnancy of pregnancy & if so, was Flagyl prescribed? Did it imposed any negative outcome for the baby? Thank you for your time.

I was diagnosed with BV at my first Dr.s visit, they gave me Flagyl and I took all of them, besides their terrible taste nothing adverse has happened so far. I hope that helps.

I have had BV and cleared it up by taking acidophilus (it's a vitamin you can get over the counter and it is safe for the baby. It also helps in a__suring that it doesn't come back. It's the live active in yogurt). Just for future reference.

Kitty, did you deliver already & if not, when is your due date? Holly, I will check into acidophilus. Sound very interesting. Thanks for taking time to respond.
