Bleeding Spotting During 15 16 Weeks Pregnant

I was 8 weeks into my pregnancy when I started spotting. It was on and off. Now I am 15 weeks pregnant, still I can see some bright red to pink virginal discharges/bleeding after I used restroom, most cases happened when I pushed my lower abdomen a little bit harder for bowel movement. I am really worried because I lost a baby son due to pre-term labor during last pregnancy. This time I did several ultrasounds and it shown that baby is fine. Any idea for this symptom? Any help is highly appreciated.

I had bleeding when I wiped at 5 weeks and 11 weeks and I went to the ER, they did an U/s and found I have a subchorionic hematoma. It is a small tear in the placenta and causes some bleeding. It can also cause pre-term labor. I suggest you contact your doctor and just let them know you are having some bright red spotting and lost a son due to pre-term labor. I know they are monitoring me with u/s every month to monitor the placenta. Good luck and congrats.

Thank you, Jen327. Your past experience and advice are very valuable for me. Actualy I visit the Maternal-Fetal Specialists every two weeks, they did several U/s to check baby and cervix. They didn't find any cause of the bleeding. Maybe I should ask them to double check the placenta to make sure it's fine too.

Hi Lilyg, I was also told that one should go for a U/s whenever there is even the slightest bleeding. But if it is a consolation... I personally had slight spotting (typically after using the bathroom) twice in my fourth month and nothing alarming showed up in the ultrasound. Mine was at times when I should have had periods. The doctor told me that it sometimes happens without any aparent causes.
