I am 19 weeks and on Thursday I was having pain so i called my OBG and they asked me to come in right away. i had also been spotting very lightly dark brown. The doctor said my cervix was closed and everything looked fine and the cause my spotting was maybe old blood. He wanted to make sure everything is ok so he sent me for an ultrasound. The heartbeat and everything was fine was even able to tell me its a boy. but the doctor said i had a slight blood clot near the end of my placenta so put me on bedrest for 2 weeks. I have been on bedrest two days now and i am not spotting anymore but I am really scared i do not want to lose my baby!Should i worry? Any advice? Thanks!

I can tell you that I am just coming off of bed rest from my second blood clot. I had the first at about 7 weeks. It resolved itself within 2 weeks of bed rest. The second one I had at 11 weeks and was quite bad, I had a ma__sive blood gush at work and had to go to the hospital via ambulance. That clot was almost the size of the baby and the sack. I have been on bed rest for 2 weeks and it has nearly resolved itself. I go in again tomorrow for a last check up before being released back to work. My advice to you is to take the bed rest seriously, no lifting, no s_x, no laundry, cleaning, driving, etc. Just take it very easy and make sure to get a lot of sleep. My doctor was very honest with me and said it put me at a higher risk for m/c, but they checked me every two days with ultrasounds to make sure my baby was ok. The baby has remained in great condition dispite the number of bleeds I have had. Oh, also make sure your blood pressure stays good. After my last clot, mine dropped to 82 over 50, very low, so stay hydrated. Beyond that, I would call your dr with any concerns, that is what they are there for. Good luck!!

I have a subchorionic hematoma which I think is the same thing. I am 12 w and bleed at work, soaked my underwear. Bed rest for 1 week and bleeding stopped. My OB said he was going to wach me carfully. The subchorionic hematoma, or clot, does not increase your risk unless it is as large as lauryn's. Mine was average, 19ml. But I only bleed for 2 hours. My OB said bleeding is scary, but in most cases women recover and go on to have healthy babies. Good luck
