Cant Find Fetus

i am 7 weeks along and i had a ultrasound the technician found the placenta and it has amniotic fluid but he couldnt locate the baby... they took alot more blood even though my first blood tests came back fine... i am praying this is only a mistake on the technicians part what could this mean and is the common???

How could he find the placenta? It is not formed this early. He could probably see the gestational sac and yolk sac, but I doubt he see a placenta this early.

im going through the same situation i got an ultrasound taken two days ago and we saw the sac but no baby so i had some blood work done and today i went back to do somemore blood work i hope my results come back fine because im so excited about the situation im almost 7 weeks pregnant.

well, tabitha they told me that bit could an etopic pregnancy.

They shouldn't be seeing the placenta this early.I dealt with the same thing, had 4 US's in the first 2 weeks after finding out I was PG. They couldn't find it and so I had to have another one to make sure it wasn't ectopic and another 2 for other reasons, like to determine fetal age,etc.I was about 7 weeks when it was ironed out that I was PG with a normal fetus in the right place.The extra blood they took was most likely to dertermine if your HGC hormone will double after 48 hours, this says you are PG and the fetus is growing. If it were to drop it would signal a miscarriage. The technician could be new at the job (they all have a first solo) and not quite accurate in what he told you. In fact, they are not supposed to tell you much of anything, the dr. is the one who should interpret the US report and tell you what it shows.
