Fetal Kidney Failure

At 19 1/2 week I had an ultrasound and my doctor informed me that my babies kidneys are not working and there is no fluid around my baby. I was sent to a specialist who confirmed this and urged me to abort. However he also told us that he saw a tricke of urine coming from the bladder during the ultrasound. That had to come from somewhere. My baby and a strong heartbeat and it's brain was nornal and I just couldn't do it. I had to give my baby a chance. is there anyone who has been through this? How did it turn out for you? I know there is someone out there who has been through this. I am now 24 weeks and I feel fetal movements sometimes and it's still growing. I'd love to hear from someone.

willoughby---I'm sorry for the situation you're in right now. Its more heartbreaking than I could imagine. You are totally in the right for wanting to give your baby a chance, and I admire you for having faith and holding out for hope. Keep doing this and pray. If your baby isn't meant to be, nature will take its course. The baby has made it this far...and its been 5 weeks since the doctor told you the baby wasn't going to make it, and he/she is still going strong! Keep having Faith! If your baby can make it to 26 or 27 weeks, maybe they'll be comfortable with inducing! Is tehre anyway tehy can operate?

I'm so sorry you are going through this, as newlywed said, why would they not try to deliver the baby? I know it is extremely early but it is worth a try and babies that early (although not common) have survived.
