Fever Amp Bleeding

I'm 7w pregnant. We had an early scan a week ago where we saw our baby's heartbeat. I've only had my HCG levels done once at 5w5d and they were 23,000. On Friday I was admitted to hospital with a bad chest infection and a worsening of my asthma - by the time I was admitted my fever was very high and my oxygen saturations quite low. I ended up having IV steroids and antibiotics. Yesterday morning I started spotting and at lunch time I passed a clot. I haven't had any heavy bleeding or much pain. I'm having a scan this morning but I'm not very hopeful. Has anyone lost a baby in similar circ_mstances ie due to an infection? Or has anyone still managed to continue a pregnancy despite passing a clot? Many thanks ladies and happy Christmas. Becky

BECK-I did have quite a few bleeding episodes with clots. My God, clots are so scary. Thats something you never get used too... My mild asthma also worsed. I've never had weezing just bad coughing. Its even worse now. I was bleeding because I found out I had a fibroid that rested on top of one of my placentas and because I was working so much and walking alot... All of this irratated everything and caused bleeding and clotting. The blood would pour out of me.... And usually, a clot toward the end. After beng put on bedrest, no more bleeding or spotting or clotting. Bedrest at home isn't fun but I am so much better and my twins are strong and soon to be delivered in 6 weeks. Do you have fibroids or cysts?

No, not that I'm aware of. I have had a cyst on my ovary in the past but it wasn't visible at my 6 week scan. My scan's in a couple of hours and I really don't want to go....! I seem to have stopped bleeding but I can't see how I can have pa__sed a clot like that and still be pregnant. Will keep you updated. Thanks for your response.

I said alittle prayer for you, girl. I pray that all is well. Regarding clots, I totally understand you. My largest was the size of a lemon. I would freak out everytime because I didn't know it was coming... It made me paranoid for awhile. They said I have whats called Thrombophilia. I also take a blood thinner called Lovenox.

Just thought I'd update everyone - we went for a scan on Christmas Eve and miraculously, the baby still had a heartbeat. The bleeding has very nearly stopped now - just a faint pink discharge (sorry if tmi!). The hospital couldn't tell us why I bled or what the clot was. Just been told to take it easy now. Maybe your prayer worked Ms Monet! Happy Christmas, Becky.
