Hellp Syndrome In Subsequent Pregnancies

I suffered from severe pre eclampsia and Hellp Syndrome with my recent pregnancy. It kicked in at 23 weeks and after hospitalisation, our baby had to be delivered at 25 weeks, weighing only 600g. Camaron unfortunately was only with us for 3 days. I would like to know the associated risks with a second pregnancy and am looking for the contact details of any specialist obgyn who may specialise in high risk pregnancies especially dealing with HELLP syndrome.

hi, i had severe preeclasmpsia with my first as well. I did get it again with my 2nd but not until 35 weeks. With my first 24 weeks. With my 3rd child I did not get it at all. I did see at high risk dr for my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy. what country are you in?

Hi Jackie. The pre-eclampsia website is pretty informative about risks for subsequent pregnancies and also can give you some names of specialists. I was given information that I was not at risk at all in subsequent pregnancies which is not true. I had pre-e with the first (born at 35 weeks) and PIH with the second, and again with this pregnancy. I am really sorry to hear about the loss of your little boy, but it is definitely possible to have a better outcome with good, close monitoring and care. Best wishes. xxx

I'm an idiot! The website is pre-eclampsia.org ... I forgot to put it in. They have links for organisations in other countries if you arent in the US.
