HGC Levels Low But There Is A Heartbeat

I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant, my HGC levels aren't doubling or even coming close to that every 48 hours like the Dr.s say the normal is. At 5 1/2 weeks I had an internal ultrasound and they found the heartbeat and saw the baby was in my uterus. I have to go again next week for another ultrasound to make sure the baby is growing. I dont know if I am being overconcerned or if this could be normal. Has anyone heard of this, or experianced it?

Yep, I had extremely low hcG levels. Unfortunately, my dr. couldn't find a heartbeat, or a baby, just a sac. I lost the baby the day after my ultrasound. I must say it's a good sign that he/she has a heartbeat and can be seen through ultrasound! Really, levels don't have to be exact, I've heard from a lot of people that the mere fact that they are increasing is a sign. My doc also found that I had very low progesterone levels, which could also have been due to the low hcG levels, the baby wasn't thiriving so my body just stop making the hormones necessary to sustain a pregnancy. So your news sounds like good news! As long as the baby is growing I think you'll be okay! Good luck, keep me posted- always good to hear a happy ending, gives me some encouragement for the next one!
