Hi! I am 10 weeks pregnant today. I have had 2 ultrasounds showing the gestational sac is irregularly shaped and the amniotic fluid is 1/3 to 1/2 of what it should be. I have been spotting brown for about 2 wks although barely visible now. My cervix is closed and there is a very strong - 154- heartbeat. My doctor is hopeful about this but the radiologist told me it is a very poor prognosis. Has anyone else gone through something similar? Thanks for any help!!!

Yes, I am now 6w 2d pregnant. I was told two days ago that I would miscarry because of the irregular shaped gestational sac. She said nothing about the amniotic fluid. I did see the heart beat but for some reason there wasn't a measurement. She just told me that it was faint (whatever that means). I am to also looking for answers. I am going in next week for another u/s I will be 7 weeks at that time and I hope they will be able to tell me more. I also have been spotting brown for about 1 week. Good luck to you and keep me posted. Thanks

Hello lolastarr, I wanted to share my story with you. I found out I was pregnant in August of last year. I went on to see how far along I was. The tech doing the ultrasound mentioned that the sac was very abnormal shaped and that she didn't think that I was going to have a viable pregnancy. She even had the radiologist come and talk to me about the results. Sure enough, a week later I went for another ultrasound and I did have to have a d and c. I think that you should not give up hope and anything is possible. I am now again pregnant, 35 weeks. I was told at 6 weeks that this pregnancy might not be viable either due to a heartbeat of only 109. It turns out that dr. was wrong and now we patiently await our the birth of our son. Do not give up hope. I have had two m/c before this pregnancy. Anything is possible. take care and keep me posted.

A good friend of mine had low amniotic fluid and she had to go into a clinic weekly (I believe) and they would put on an IV or something to help raise the fluid levels and she had a healthy little girl who recently turned 3!!!

Hi Everyone - I just wanted to update everyone and let them know that I did m/c at 10w 3d. My last u/s I was 8w 6d and everything was looking great. The baby's heart rate was strong at 170 and the gestational sac was looking more normal. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. It happened about a week and a half ago and I am doing well. I did go through some contractions and labor pains. The bleeding has finally stopped and I am feeling much better. I am ready to try again and so is my husband. He sure has been great support. I hope all is going well with the rest of you. Take care and keep us posted.
