I know what you are going through. I have had 8 kidney stones, surgery on only 2. Did have a kidney stone during my first pregnancy...and am very nervous as I am about 7 weeks and went of my medicine for the stones about 3 weeks ago. Stents are really just there to keep the ureter open in hopes the stone will pa__s. If the stone is too large it will have a hard time pa__sing. Sometimes a stent can irriate the ureter and cause pain. You need to drink, drink, DRINK!!! Fluids will help flush the stone out and keep it from irritating the ureter or kidney depending on where it is. Everyones stones aren't the same, but calcium oxalate are the most common. My urologist says drinking is the key, lemonade is best, avoid alot of red meat and watch how much orange juice you drink as it is broken down into oxalates. Luckinly most of my stones were small enough to pa__s, although painful...it pa__ses. I only hope you can do the same. Talk to your urologist and ob. Best wishes!!!
