Senokot (natural vegetable laxative) is on my "OK to take" list from my Dr. I take 2 every night before bed. They are my lifesaver!! I'm 22 weeks and have been taking them since 6 weeks pregnant. All laxatives are not ok to take. So be sure to ask your Dr. if the one you are taking is ok.

i don't know.. the body slows down digestion as a reaction to the pregnancy -- so it can suck additional nutrients out of your food. I would try to stick to food based laxatives through your pregnancy. Eating fiberous foods will be a healthier solution for both you and your baby. If doc says ok then go ahead but I'd be wary relying on them in pregnancy.
