Hi, my wife has a br___t abcess on her left br___t. It happen during the pregnancy not after birth. We went to see a surgical doctor, and he tried to drain it, but it seems that it isn't completely drained. We went to another surgical doctor, and he suggest to have a surgery with full anesthetic. Anyone have this experience before? We found out on the internet that anesthetics which exposed to infants prenatally will have side effects. Please, we need as much information as we can. The surgery supposedly will be tomorrow morning and we need to decide on it. ps: We live in Bali, Indonesia.

Hi Denie, I know it is a bit late to post for you but I would go for the surgery. I am a physio who works in womens health and see women with mast_tis. I had a lady that developed a b___st abscess, and was admitted twice for iv antibiotics but it wouldnt resolve, she had to have the surgery for it to resolve completely. I know it is scary to consider the affects of GA on the pregnancy, but your wife can end up really ill if they cant resolve it, the infection can spread through her whole system as she is immuno supressed during her pregnancy. It is not uncommon for women to have other surgeries while they are pregnant ie: gall bladder, and though it is not ideal sometimes we dont have a choice. Good luck, I hope all goes well.
