Niked Bladder During C Section

I had a c-section on Dec. 26, 2006 and my doctor niked my bladder with his hand after my child was born when they were cleaning me out. I ended up having a cathedar for 10 days after that. I then had to have an xray done to make sure my bladder was healed before they would take it out. Right after it was taken out I got a bladder infection. On top of recovering from the c-section, the recovery from all of this has taken longer than I thought and the pain is pretty bad. I am now on my second bladder infection and I am allergic to the medication so all I can do is drink tons of cranberry juice and water. I have gone through 3 refills on my prescriptions (pain meds) and I still am in a lot of pain. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with the pain? Thanks in advance.

Maybe go back to your doctor's office and let them know that those pain meds aren't cutting it... that you need something else because they just aren't taking the pain away for you. I would think that with what happened they would jump through hoops for you! I mean, I know that a nicked bladder is a risk you take with a c-section (I've had 3!... c-sections, that is, not nicks)... but since it happened under his care I would think he (or the practice) would do anything they could to help you out with your pain. Good luck with your recovery!

im so sorry for your pain! They thought they nicked my bladder at my c-seciton also...the only reason I knew what b/c my DH saw them running some kind of dyed liquid thru it to see if it had any leaks...Wild stuff... I hope yours heals soon! Defineitly go back to your doc...and he cant do anything further ask for a reference to a urologist.
